I have driven one, I cant see pouring boost to one under a huge load on a 110 degree day as a good thing for longevity or for MPG. I also dont drive like a jackass when pulling a car trailer like most people either (damn near WOT to get up hills, using cruise and letting it downshift to second and SCREAM up hills etc)
You have driven one but couldn't tell the difference from an N/A 5.4? You sure it wasn't an F150 Boss you drove? Again, a load will NOT increase the boost to the engine. Secondly, in the rare case that boost IS past allowable limits (which usually happens at close to redline in colder temps), the boost bypass kicks in. You give these trucks too little credit, and really need to read up on them more.
