So I am now a proud owner of a 2004 Chevrolet 1500 with a 4.8L with 5 speed. The owner rolled it and truck was a complete loss...The good thing is the motor, transmission, ecm, and wiring were not damaged. So my plans are to transplant everything over to a bare 1986 chassis. The plan is to reuse the UPR k-member and most of the factory parts on the truck. Might have to ditch the 5 speed idea and go with a 3 speed auto. If I can get the motor in and running, then plans are a small single turbo and small cam for giggles later on down the line. The biggest question is ..has anybody used a factory k member or in my case a UPR k member under their LS swaps?

Yes I know for sure. I am the one who worked the wreck and now suffering with poison ivy. We let it set for 24 hours before we attempted to start it. The truck fired right up and idled perfect.

Lol sux about the poison ivy. 4.8 is a good motor, my buddies 00 Silverado had over 200k on his 4.8 before he traded it in
