Got in the truck the other day and it wouldn't idle and was progressively losing power. Came home and noticed that the EGR Valve Control Solenoid was busted (cap was missing). Replaced that, started it up and it idled just fine. Problem solved? Loaded up some stuff to run some errands and took off. I could barely get out of the driveway, it was losing so much power, came back and parked it.

Fuel pressure is about 38 lbs.
Fuel filter has about 10k miles on it
Air filter was recently cleaned (K&N)
I don't hear any vacuum leaks
Not throwing any codes

Thoughts?

If it was misfiring, I figured that it would trigger the Check Engine light.
It is stock other that being Mass Air.
How do you run the self test?

Sorry, I should have been clearer when I said that it was stock other than Mass Air. It's a 95 Lightning motor in a 96 F150, ODB II, so I don't know think the self test is the same, is it?

A 96 f150 ecu isn't the same as the lightning

Correct. I had my ecu from the 96 turned.

Well did you switch over the lightning motor electronics with the 96 like the throttle body maf iac etc

Is the computer 302 or 351 they are different firing orders.

Yes, I used all of the 96 ODB II stuff. Truck has been running fine for a few years, since I did the conversion.

Just had an issue the other day where it idled rough (turned out to be a busted EGR Valve Control Solenoid, which I replaced and it idled just fine) and the loss of power when giving it throttle. Can't get down the road at all...
