I posted this up in the general tech section and haven't gotten much of a response.

I've got my ignition set up with a separate crank sensor and I am using the PIP as a cam sensor. I'm using coil 2 ouput on the EMS to directly trigger a CDI box and bypass the stock TFI module. I left coil 1 completely intact so I can go back to the TFI if necessary. Using the TFI to trigger the CDI box allows the tach to function normally. Triggering the CDI box directly from the EMS causes the tach not to function at all. It works while the car is cranking but after the car starts it goes dead.

Attached is an image of how the car is currently wired.

I am not sure what to do with the DG/Y wire in order to get the tach to function.

I have a tach adapter, but I'm not sure it will help in this situation.

Thanks for any advice.

Can't you use the Tach Output from the AEM to the DG/Y wire?
