came across a decent 550+hp SM/PC Pump Gas street crate engine, A3 type Clev head copy with the small port A3 type low rise single plane spider torque intake, would be nice to also see them do a dyno test with same eng and there funnel web high rise intake for a hp comparison of the two, https://speedmaster79.com/pce147108...3v-4v-w-tongues-torque-intake-manifold-satin/ ...VS... https://speedmaster79.com/pce147108...ngues-parker-high-rise-intake-manifold-satin/...

Wow, forgot how big those intake runners are. I wonder how they compared to the Kaase C-400 runners? I remember Bob Glidden stuffing epoxy in them back in the day because they were to damn big.....lol. I had a 70 Mach 1 M code car with this engine and heads. I had the FMX auto tranny as well and it was a dog on the street. Get it out on the highway and it was a beast. I miss that car. Would have been better with the top loader.

have to say i still have a bit of a fetish for the old 4v/Boss iron heads, will have to find out if these new SM/PC iron castings are any thicker than originals. the BIGGEST mistake i seen dummies do in the past was to gasket port match 4V heads & 4V intakes basicly wreaking both in one shot LOL, the P/S racers & street guys that knew better filled the 4v head port floor to the 4v intakes (most are smaller) instead, copying / simular to the 4v port inserts FORD Originaly designed/made for the 4V-Boss head back in 1969 for Trans-Am racing, we used tight fitting steel sheet/muffler tubing fastened/siliconed in filling the port floor about 1/4" and never had a problem. All the factory port 4V-Boss head design really needed was more CI (400"+ci) to work its best.

some of the 4V-Boss Trans-Am iron heads were the Best iron heads ever cast...

a comparison of svo A3 port and old Pro/Stock 4V port, any fillers should be 1/4" to 5/16" thick Max so they dont hurt top end power
the 4V int port openings should kept at Min 2-1/8" to 2-1/4" tall

the thick restrictor aussie/parker fillers i seen online are Way to thick as they come and would choke/hurt top end power for higher hp apps
parkers 4v FunnelWeb int port opening is the Exact same size as the old small ci restrictor port SVO intakes

today the big > D3 < intake port seems to be the Bomb for high HP builds
